Our Mission
The mission of the Florida State Guardianship Association, Inc. is as follows:
"To promote the protection, dignity, and value of the incapacitated persons through a code of ethics, advocacy, and dissemination of information. And, to further the professionalization of guardianship as an accountable, protective service though education, networking, and legislative action."
What We Do
The FSGA:
- Provides public and professional education to further knowledge of Guardianship, less restrictive alternatives, and the relevant services that are available.
- Promotes a broader understanding and acceptance of the qualified guardian as an integral part of the judicial system.
- Advocates for policies that benefit wards and the practice of Guardianship in an ethical manner.

Guardianship Training
The Gulf Coast Chapter of the FSGA provides education and training to court-appointed family guardians of adults with mental and/or physical disabilities who are incapable of managing some or all of their affairs. Our course also meets the requirement for persons named as guardian of a minor.
